Chemical Hose

Chemical hose is designed especially for transporting strongly corrosive fluid medium, therefore, it is often defined as a special hose type. Its main application scenarios include: chemical loading & unloading between tank trucks, oil tankers, storage tanks and factories. In chemical, pharmaceutical, painting and coating production lines, it is used for various solvents, additives and raw materials transportation; And also it is specifically used for transporting ink, varnish and cleaning solvents in the printing and packaging industries. The inner layer of chemical hose is always made of highly chemical resistant materials, usually to be Teflon (FEP/PFA), ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), and ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber (EPDM), this is also the main reason why it can transport strong chemical media.

Similar to ordinary rubber hose, chemical hose also has a three-layer composite structure:

1. Inner Layer

teflon (FEP/PFA) It offers strong corrosion resistance performance to transport almost all chemicals, and its inner wall is extremely smooth and non-sticky, which makes it suitable for extremely demanding applications.
ultra-high molecular polyethylene (UHMWPE) It combines both excellent corrosion resistance and wear resistance, making it the perfect material for many heavy-duty chemical hose.
ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber It has a high cost-performance ratio, excellent resistance to acids and alkalis, ketones, and alcohols, but is not resistant to mineral oils and fuels.

2. Reinforcement Layer

Using multi-layer high-strength synthetic fibers for weaving or winding, the main function of the reinforcement layer is to provide pressure-bearing capacity.

3. Outer Layer

The main function of this layer is to protect the framework and the inner layer. Normally, EPDM synthetic rubber or chloroprene rubber which is resistant to corrosion, ozone and abrasion is used. The color is often green, blue or black, which is easy to identify.
